Bird watching Basics Course 2009 A beginner's guide to birding

Bird watching Basics Courses, in the beautiful Atlantic Rainforest of Brazil, planned for April and May 2009. This 7-day course will be priced at US$700 per person. Watch this space and www.birdingsiteguide.com for confirmation of dates. The price includes all food and lodging and transport on site. The guide is a professionally qualified ornithologist, English-speaking and with several years experience of South American birds. The price does not include travel to and from Iracambi. The courses will be a 1 week long introduction to bird identification for beginners, for preparation for a birding trip and for guide training in this beautiful Atlantic Forest reserve setting. The course itinerary will be flexible to suit the group’s level of experience, fitness and expectations, but is primarily aimed at people who have just taken up bird watching abroad and wish to learn more. Group sizes will be small: between 2 and 8 people.

A typical day will include a morning walk, generally over easy trails, a discussion of birds seen and identification points, lunch (cooked by Iracambi staff) a talk after lunch about some aspect of South American birds and evening walk. The course will be flexible to suit the weather.
