Our Forest
Futures project allows people to get involved in a scheme
which actually reforests degraded land and then places the forest
under legal protection, to ensure that it remains forest forever.
Much land has been cleared in the area by farmers desperately
seeking ways to make a living from their land, however this is
only a short term measure. Owing to the steep terrain in the area
much land is really only suitable to be forest. Once cleared the
land is really only useful for a very short time, and then the
farmer is left with land that is useless. By adopting one of the
Forest Futures plots you can help us address our twin concerns
of the forest and the people of the area. You can adopt a plot
of forest for US$60 by clicking here.
Our volunteers and researchers display an incredible amount of
ingenuity and creativity in the work they do to achieve our mission.
We are used to getting the full value out of every piece of equipment,
every tool, every piece of money we have. However our work is
obviously made easier, and our goals more quickly achieved if
we are able to invest more in each project. If you would like
to join the list of donors and make
a donation to our project then you can do so through PayPal online
here. You can e-mail us at iracambi@iracambi.com
to get more information on our project, or to find out about other
ways to make a donation - by transferring funds to our US or UK
bank accounts. If you are a British taxpayer we provide a
form for you to fill in which allows us to claim back the
tax paid on your donation - another way we get the maximum value
out of every resource.
There are many things that we need to improve facilities here,
if you are unable to donate money you may be able to help us by
donating items - that computer you were about to throw away because
the ashtray is full, for example. We have a wish list of items
that would greatly increase the capacity of the Center. If you
do have any items that you could donate please do contact
us to discuss how we can get the items from there to here.
Thank you very much.
You can get more information on our programs for researchers
and volunteers that we run
