Lily Leahy (Australia): "During my time here, I had many conversations with different people interesting on a variety of topics related to the environment that interested me. From this I have been able to get a much broader perspective on a range of issues, such as the relationship between the global economy and the environment, climate change, green, sustainable agriculture."
|
| Neil Leung (UK): “I´ve learned a lot more about photography (cheers Blake and Alana) and I picked up a little bit more Portuguese (cheers to the Brazilians).” |
|
|
Rachel McGinnety (UK): Before coming to Iracambi I had never traveled alone or visited anywhere in Southern America. This experience has allowed me to do both of those. I have also learnt a lot about sustainable development and wish to study more about this topic... maybe even work for an NGO in the future. I feel more confident!! Furthermore- I finally know which classes I want to take for my final year at University- to read about development, hydrology and pedology. Thanks Iracambi!!!”.

Marlon Ortega (Colombia): "I am still thinking if the startling views, the cachoeira trips, the astounding hikes, the caipirinha sessions, the scrumptious food, the birds in the morning, the sky in the afternoon, and of course the beautiful people had an impact in my life".

Joana McGrady and Hannah Clarke (UK)
"The relaxed environment makes everyone feel at ease upon arrival, beautiful trails, shared effort in preparation of food etc, meeting people that have such strong enthusiasm in their own interests, eg. Alexandre's enjoyment of making music and handmade things using natural resources, and seeing people’s passion for the importance of matters of environment and nature".

"I would say that Iracambi has added spit to polish-that is to say that the experience has made me realize that I’m not who I thought I was and that I’m a lot stronger than I first thought. Also living with other people in such a small environment has improved my people skills (I hope!)- Certainly at times it has been very trying- but I’ve dealt with it. |
