Iracambi Teacher Resources


		Welcome to Iracambi where we are working to make conservation of the rainforest more attractive than its destruction.
		Follow us as we go around the Fazenda. In the distance is one of the volunteer houses - Casa Angola. Living here provides an opportunity to live in a way that is likely to be quite different to what you are used to. With people from many different backgrounds working on a range of projects that all feed in to our work, it is an interesting and friendly place to live and work. All the volunteer houses are built in a style traditional to the area. They are basic but clean and cosy. All the volunteer houses have two bedrooms - each sleeping two people in a same sex room. There is also a living room, kitchen and bathroom.
		We are located on a working farm. Our main farming activity is dairy cattle, we also grow Eucalyptus,and, since Iracambi is the land of milk and honey, we also have bees.
		We are now approaching Casa de Barro where Robin and Binka - two of the directors of Iracambi - live. It is usually the first place people come to when they arrive after their journey down the dusty, pot-holed roads fro Limeira to here. It is also where the office with a beautiful view is located.
