Where Farm and Forest Meet		Research where it's needed
		Off now on our way to the Center we pass by some beautiful forest - much of which has been replanted by us in our annual program of reforestation on Iracambi land.
		On the way to the Center you can see Graminha in the distance - one of the mountains in the local area.As you can see by looking over at it, and even more clearly by climbing it, most of the forest that remains in the area is in fragments. The forests have been cut down so that farmers can use more land to try and make a living for their family - the main crop in the area is coffee. This has left lots of fragments of isolated - usually on the tops of hills and mountains. Through our Forest Corridors program we are looking to address this by planting corridors of trees which will join up these fragments.
		We have now arrived at the Center. This is the biggest of the volunteer houses - with four bedrooms. It is also the focus for many of the volunteer activities - we hold our weekly meeting here for instance. Many of the trails start or end around the Center too.
		Next to the Center are the brand new cabins built for researchers. Bright and shiny and lovely they each have two bedrooms - with space for two people in each room. They also have a living room and a bathroom. The kitchen and other facilities are shared with the Center - that way researchers can have quiet time if needed to work, or they can join in with the activities at the Center.
