Working to give the forest a future |

Farm and Forest |

This is the Forest Nursery where we grow seedings for our reforestation projects. Each year we reforest part of our land as well as donating seedlings to schools and individuals (but only if they promise to take very good care of them.) |

The classroom is used for our education and outreach events. We run workshops where people come to share experiences and information, talk about issues that affect us all, and figure out ways to preserve our wonderful forest. The classroom also doubles as a computer lab housing the GIS system as well as all our files - which can be accessed from anywhere on campus. |

Next door to the classroom is the laboratory, mainly used for hand-on workshops on plant identification and uses of medicinal plants.

This is the view from the dawn trail - one of the network of trails on the fazenda. We use them for environmental education and outreach as well as glorious hiking, and trail maintenence is a favorite activity for our volunteers. |
