Here's how Rainforest Volunteers help Iracambi in the conservation of the Brazilian rainforest

Volunteers from around the world have found a place for themselves here - whether it is carrying out one of the specific roles we have outlined, another area that is involved in the running of Iracambi or assisting us with our research. To make it easier for you to do the same we have provided information on specific volunteer roles that we need filled. If you are interested in one of the roles, and believe that you have the necessary skills and expertise please do apply.

You may still feel that you can offer something to the place as a volunteer, even though your skills and areas of interest aren't specifically covered. Please do contact us to discuss ideas that you have with us.

How to Apply

If you are interested in applying to volunteer your time with us please download and fill in the ‘Getting to know you’ form and send it, along with your CV/resume to volunteers@iracambi.com. If you cannot find what you’re looking for, please get in touch anyway and we will see what we can do.

Our procedures are very simple: there are three steps:

Step 1 - You tell us what you're interested in and we'll discuss how you can do it.The more information you can provide the more easy it is to tailor the role to your skills.

Step 2 - Once we've agreed on what you'll do when you come here, we will offer you a place and give you the terms and conditions to check through. At that stage, we'll ask for payemnt for the first month of your stay.

Step 3 - We'll Pre-departure information and any updates needed on the project.

Minimum Stay

The minimum length of time we accept volunteers and researchers for is one month. This gives researchers and volunteers enough time to have a look round and get a feel for the place. It is also a reasonable length of time to allow people to really get involved in their project and make a real contribution to the place. Which is very important to us as the work that volunteers do contributes so much to our organization.

Program Fees:

We charge (main house)*
For first month: R$1.200,00
For the following month: R$1.150,00
Third and subsequent month: R$1.100,00-
*If you choose to stay in our semi-private cottages please add R$200,00

Included in this fee: food, accommodation, Internet access 24 hours a day. It does NOT include transportation, or special items like beverages, candies etc.

We ask you to pay for your first month BEFORE you arrive.

Fees for Interns and Reseachers are as follows:

Interns and Researchers who will be getting academic credit, superior accommodation and a certain level of supervision required by their University and/or by Iracambi pay Br R$50 per day.

OR For first month: R$1.500,00
For the following month: R$1.450,00
Third and subsequent month: R$1.400,00

Payments to Amigos de Iracambi can be made in the following ways:

1. Direct transfer to the Iracambi bank account in the United States:

3.If you will be staying for more than one month, you can pay for the subsequent months AFTER you arrive here, in which caes you can pay in cash as well as by these methods.
