Maintenance
Look after the volunteers and researchers,
and the researchers and volunteers will look after the rainforest...
|
How does mending some furniture help to
save the rainforest? The link might not seem that clear
at first. Volunteer and researcher accommodation is maintained,
for the most part, by volunteers and researchers. As part
of the general upkeep of the house they carry out repairs
as and when necessary. The less time that researchers and
volunteers need to spend on this sort of work, the more
time volunteers and researchers can spend on their projects.
Having a volunteer who can work on this full-time means
that other volunteers and researchers are free to carry
on their own work.

Volunteer houses and researcher cabins are maintained by volunteers.
We have four houses for volunteers - these are traditional farmhouses
in the same style as those found around the area. There are five
brand new purpose built cabins for researchers which have just
been completed. These all need to be looked after to ensure that
they are safe and comfortable as possible.
In addition to this we have a classroom, a laboratory,
a Nursery and lots of gardens which need to be looked after.
Ongoing work

interior/exterior painting as necessary.

old furniture.
