Researching Ecosystems
The Atlantic Rainforest is one of the world's top five biodiversity hotspots, and an area which has not been well researched. Iracambi has four main areas of biological research:
- fauna and flora (botanical, fauna, and species and behavioral studies)
- inventorying and surveying species and bio-mapping using GIS
- monitoring forest cover, growth, species competition
- stream ecology
We also have research projects to support our work in developing sustainable communities and managing natural resources.
